México Marina Association

About us

M. Teresa Celis de Grossman

The AMMT A. C., was established in 1989 with the aim of joining forces to promote changes in legislation and regulations that affected our marinas.

At our request, the Ministry of Tourism established the Consultative Commission of Tourist Marinas, in which all the Dependencies involved with the Marinas participate. In this Commission our Association has been representing the Private Initiative and many achievements have been obtained that have saved time and considerable sums of money to all Marinas.

However, there is still a long way to go before there is adequate regulation that promotes and does not inhibit the development of Marinas in Mexico. The Association must be aware that the interests of the Marinas are not negatively affected by the constant changes in laws and regulations that affect us directly or indirectly.

During the Assemblies of the Association, the members present their doubts and problems, which are later raised before the Consultative Commission of Tourist Marinas. The Board of Directors sends all Associates an Activity Report with the progress made and pending procedures, as well as information on new laws and regulations.

The unification of criteria, procedures and regulations, as well as the joint promotion in a common front before the authorities and third parties, is very necessary for the promotion of this new activity of nautical tourism, for which it is very important that all investors in this branch Let us stay united through this Association.
